Hanner

Orbiting around one star, a star that we have named Centurion [Messier 74, Phantom Galaxy], this planet sits at the perfect distance from Centurion for life to form. Since Centurion is duller than Earth's Sun, this planet is approximately 25 million kilometres closer to Centurion than Earth is to the Sun.   It is Hanner.   Disregard for a moment anything about Earth, for Hanner has its own balance. That balance is a 45-55 blend of land to water, on the surface. Closer inspection will tell that there are two sizeable masses of land, and it is these - and their surrounding islands - that create the two continents: Sinistral, the continent of marshland and steep highlands, the planet's grubby face; Dextral, diverse geographical climes with a crippled history.   The seas bleed into each other, and freeze at the poles without care. Hanner cradles its people as they walk its surface. Though the people do not feel the planet breathe beneath their feet, not unless their eyes are open.   There is the destroyed city in Minnistraits, and its phoenix heart that kept the country alive. There is Surskine dipping its pipette onto Minnistraits, and siphoning part of the moon for itself. There is Gorev, siphoning the rest from the moon, and holding a gun to the head of the Independant Republic of Eustrad. There is Tern, the country divided by the sea. And there is that harvested moon, Tirrell, orbiting slowly and sweating backwards onto its elder moon Pyrrhic. They sweat dust that the people on Dextral swear on, and the people on Sinistral drink to.   This is Hanner.
