The Queen's Palace
The Queen's Palace was the home to the Mo'olelo Royalty, of whom Queen Emmeline Dominis was the member of the royal family to reside in the palace. It's been the home of the royal family for more than 150 years, but with Queen Dominis' disappearance, the palace sits idle. Interested parties are debating what to do with the palace and who currently owns the palace since the queen is no longer here. The Bayonets, who overthrew the queen, aren't interested in owning the palace but are trying to sell it. The process isn't going over well among the people of Mo'olelo and many of the world's factions.
Purpose / Function
The primary purpose of the Queen's Palace is to serve as the home for the Mo'olelo royalty, many of whom who've governed the islands over the centuries. Most recently, the Queen's Place served as the in-home prison of Queen Dominis before she escaped from home imprisonment. She was imprisoned after she was overthrown by the Bayonets, a rogue guild who wanted to overthrow the royal family to pursue their business interests. It is unclear where Queen Dominis escaped to.
Currently, the palace serves no purpose, except as a possible bargaining chip for the Bayonets. Their use of palace as a bargaining chip and trying to sell the palace is incredibly unpopular in Mo'olelo. The Bayonets didn't calculate being unable to fill the power vacuum once they overthrew the queen. They did not have the support in Mo'olelo and their business interests didn't come through for them like they anticipated.
Architecture
The Queen's Palace is a grandeur home constructed primarily of brick with concrete facing. The interior is luxuriously furnished with beautiful koa wood floors and high ceilings with a grand staircase in the middle. The exterior is intricate with balconies surrounding the entire perimeter of the building. The palace is comprised of two floors and a basement. The top floor has all of the bedrooms and a library. The main floor included the throne room, the dining room and a meeting room. The basement housed the kitchen and staff quarters.
The Queen's Palace was also the only location in Mo'olelo to have an elevator, and one of the first to have indoor plumbing.
