HalGaet

HalGaet is an entrance to the underground city of the east mountain. Many come and go through this village, but even more know this as the closest they will ever come to either the surface world, or the underworld. Caught in the middle, this is an important location for many groups, with wars and battle being fought over it, or in its environs. The city itself I should an independent state, although it has many ties to the powers around it. Should the city ever collapse or be threatened, it has many allies to call to for aid.

Geography

HalGaet is the second entrance to the underground city of Helthan, located in the eastern mountains of Ainvale. It is perched in the mouth of a cave, half in, half out. A river flows into the cave, and through the city itself, providing water, food, and transportation. Although at the end of a valley, because it faces towards the sun for most of the year, it can actually be a bright and cheerful. On the slopes of the valley surrounding the city, crops and trees both grow, valuable exports for the village.

Fauna & Flora

Shalmo fish live in the river, as well as the dammed ponds and small lake. Some bass and bottom feeders live in there as well. Most other species and plants are very similar to PNW flora and fauna. Pine trees, small undergrowth, birds, deer, small mammals, ferns, etc.

Natural Resources

Many of the resources for the villiage come from the fact that they are a necessary stop for travelers. imports of food and wood flow in towards the underground city, with exports of metal, machinery, and tools coming out. Other than these, the river provides fish and water, with the valley walls providing crop land and pasture. Wood for the village buildings comes from both the forests surrounding the mountains as well as imports. Some orchards are also found in the valley.
