Olak, The Carefree
The Carefree
Olak is one of the newer gods to exist within the Haerasian pantheon, replacing the previous goddess of luck, Tymora, after she fell out of favor of the other gods when the amount of "misunderstandings" between her and them finally grew to be too many. In his role of a deity of fortune, Olak is written to avoid dealing with other gods, instead devoting to his dealings with the mortals who worship him; gamblers and adventurers chief among them.Old Lady Luck
Tymora was a deity who originated within the halfling pantheon before, like many others, being adopted into the Haerasian pantheon with other deities. It was understood that, before their distancing from the material plain and one another, she had many a tryst with the other deities. Each of which, it was understood, ended amicably before the goddess moved on to her new endeavor. - But it was a playful lie gone wrong that pitted Helm, Pelor, and Erathis against one another that started the spiral towards her being shunned. There are some, however, that speculate that Olak is merely an aspect of Tymora, and that the playful lady luck has not gone anywhere at all.
