Mystra, The Magicweaver
The Magicweaver
Though some mistakenly assume the two to be one and the same, Azuth and Mystra are two wildly different deities. It is Mystra who is credited with her taking of raw, powerful, chaotic energies, and weaving it into the beauty known as magic. Azuth, The Wizard is a separate entity who is said to pass down and grant the ability to wield the magic Mystra creates onto the mortal races.Power
Magic, being the powerful tool that it is, is coveted by many. And there are plenty who would seek to wield it to great evil ends. Mystra does not truly disapprove of such endeavors, for it is by simply demonstrating the art of magic, be it through beauty or destruction, that one pays homage to her work of weaving it into existence. The goddess' lack of empathy for those suffering at the hands of magic adds to some distrust towards her temple's clerics and followers. But very few will try deny the wonders magic achieves for the good of mortal races. As such, worship of the Magicweaver seldom declines.
