Kelemvor, The Judge
The Judge
The Judge and Keeper of the Dead, Kelemvor is what awaits those who's lives have come to an end. Once The Raven Queen releases a soul into death, Kelemvor is who judges their lives and decides what is to become of them. Some are brought to the realm of their respective gods, others are returned to the cycle of life to await the start of another. Others are punished, condemned to either the abyss or, in the case of those who stubbornly deny the gods and proclaim themselves faithless, the Wall of Eternity. Most Solemn
Most every temple dedicated to a god within the Haerasian pantheon has a priest who knows how to take care of a body after it has died. And each temple and faith has its own set of rites. Some, however, still prefer to reach out and entrust the task to worshippers of Kelemvor who, if working in an official capacity as gravediggers or embalmers, are known as the Most Solemn Order of the Silent Shroud. Their temples are often found on or near cemeteries and gravesites, alongside or near those dedicated to the Raven Queen.
