Helm, The Protector

The Protector

One of the oldest deities known across Haeras, Helm is the eternal sentry throughout the ages of the world. Throughout time, Helm has worked to try and protect the stability of Haeras, with stories telling of them standing between other gods and their goals should they threaten the balance of life. These efforts came to a head when the Betrayer Gods faced off against their kin in The Calamity. And those same stories say it is Helm who proposed the gods separated themselves from the mortal plain after seeing the devastation their battle had wrought.
Today they watch over guardians and protectors, and are worshipped by those who work to protect others. They encourage and embolden guardians to fight and safeguard their charges, strengthening their shield arms. Where specialized orders like the Knights of Saint Salharis specialize in protecting important figureheads of government, priests, clerics, and paladins of Helm tend to offer their services in return for a small tithe owed to their deity.
