Auril, The Winter
The Winter
Auril, a lesser deity in the Haerasian pantheon, is widely accepted to be an aspect of Melora, The Wildmother Worship of the winter cold being separated from the goddess of nature started fairly recently. Followers and worshippers of Auril call upon her to ask for gentle winters, or safe passage through snow and ice covered terrain. But apart from that, it is largely understood the goddess of cold is a very seasonal deity, and active worship of her declines during the summer months, to pick up again nearer the end of autumn.Through the Snow
What few of her followers do so all year round tend to live in parts of the world where they are surrounded by snow and ice. Paladins and rangers are taught to offer their services as guides through the treacherous terrain. Those that are willing to do so for free or a pittance tend to wind up among the rank and file of the Kind Wayfarers, should a chapter exist in the region.
