Dwarf

Dwarves awoke to the world deep in the Underdark. With only the luminescent fungi and dripping water from the cavern ceiling to guide them they began building their legacy. They quickly created tools and workshops that allowed them to mine and build into the stone walls around them.   centuries passed, and the Dwarves kept mining and building happily, unaware of the world above them they continued to explore the deeps. The Dwarves where not alone in the Underdark and so seeking to avoid war the Dwarves kept digging, ever upward, in pursuit of safety. When they finally reached the surface, it is said that they stumbled out underneath the night sky, expecting to see more caverns above they looked up and dropped their tools in shock. Since then many Dwarves have been enamored with the sky, and have tried everything in their power to reach it. A large number of Dwarves built new homes on the surface of the world and they have refused to live underground since.   Born underneath the mountains of mist that stretches the continent of Asteruul, Dwarves are a hardy people of simple pleasures. They enjoy their connection to the mountains underneath their feet and tries to capture the beauty of the world as they see it in stone. Dwarves are adventurous and enjoy the though of bettering themselves by doing things that others deem impossible.   Dwarves tend to be rather eccentric and blunt and have a hard time relaxing, a result of spending many generations in the Underdark. Since coming to the surface and no longer living their lives in the darkness of the underground, Dwarfs tend to have a hopeful outlook on life and have taken well to the teachings of Haedus.   All Dwarves are born belonging to a House, of which there are many, with varied connections between each other. They tend to be rather small compared to other races´ organizations and most are only active in a small regional scale with non being able to claim that they are a political force on the entire continent.
