Dranin

Dranin are descendants of ancient dragons. They resemble their ancestors, but are humanoid in appearance. Dragonborn are often proud and honorable creatures, but some can abuse their ancestry to achieve power of some kind. Most Dranin are not cowardly, as it's considered something that's not in their nature.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Dranin are naturally very muscular, and hard scales cover their bodies. Their scales typically range from different shades of red to gold, silver, and even blue. Their eyes are usually red, gold, or, very rarely, black.
Very rarely, a dranin can be born with a 2-3 foot tail, but this is seen as a deformity.

Genetics and Reproduction

Like their ancestors, Dranin are hatched from eggs. Once a dranin has hatched, they are nursed by their parents before teeth come in.

Growth Rate & Stages

Young dranin grow very fast, reaching the maturity of a human child of 10 years old by age 3. By the age of 12, they reach human maturity, but age 16 is when they reach full dranin maturity. After that, most dranin expect a lifespan of up to 75 years.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Most dranin make their home in Camora, but quite a few will travel to Traith, Duland, and, rarely, Desia. They find Paya too "barbaric," as they would say.

Naming Traditions

Some common male names are; Petrus, Cario, Stadius, and Alexius. Some common female names are; Junia, Alicia, Helvia, and Amata.
Surnames also include; Tullias, Aventius, Gallus, and Eborius. Though, some tend to choose names from old and great dragon leaders from before their time, like Shirduuk Sulfras, who is named after a long-dead but very famous dragon.
