Heirs

When the deities joined the living people of the Material Plane to fight agains the threat of the Shadowfell, they had a major role on helping humanking regain it's confindece in order to rebuild the continent. Some deities acted on leading humankind while others were more supportive and would rather influence them and watch they thrive.   No matter which role they would take, there was knowledge to be shared.  On the beginning it was easiar for the deities to teach them all, since there were few survivors. However, as they would thrive, they began to grow in numbers and each day the task of providing the attention needed became harder. There were some who became closer to the deities and would learn new things from them and then share with the others. However this kind of exposure to the deities started to slowly change those people.  They would interact perfectly fine amongst themselves but somehow seem detached from the rest. They would never witheld any kind of knowledge, since the deities showed them inumerous tools to be used to succeed on the world, but still they have problems with the others. Slowly, those who were always near the deities started to group together and interact less and less with the rest of the population.   By the time the deities perceived that behaviour, they decided to no longer be around them that close since they couldn't know what would become of them. Therefore, the deities kept contact with the Material Plane inhabitants through the dreams of those who were already affected. On the side of the population, the ones affected by the deities kept on receiving divine knowledge and spreading them for the others, but they had no other joy on anything the Material Plane could offer to them. The only ones who knew the feeling, would be the ones who were also tuched by the deities.   Therefore, they created a small village for them just outside the city, it was a simple village without anything valuable since they would rarely stay for too long on one place, they would feel the urge to move to other places and share what they had learned from the deities. People from all over the places would seek divine guidance through them and soon people started to refer to them as heirs, as in heirs of the deities knowledge.   As the time passed, their numbers dwindled and at some point, they were never heard of anymore. Some believe that all of them passed away, while others believe that they are simply hidden from the normal world because they discovered something terrible that cannot be share with anyone.
