Sending Stones

Sending stones have been a ironic part of any traveler's supplies. Capable of letting non-spell casters speak to people far away and share information... once a day.... and only to the single paired set of stones. Needless to say Sending Stones were extremely ineffective and troublesome to use. It as in 1283 when a gnome bard by the name of Faelys Truespring developed a way to fix this issue. She found that when made sending stones were connected through a specific arcane wave length. By toning stones to these wavelengths she was able to send messages to other sets of stones. Over the next 20 years she fine toned this method until the stones known today came to be.
Cost of these stones go as followed:
Common: 1 per day - 500 GP
Uncommon: 3 per day -1200 GP
Rare: 5 per day - 2300 GP
Very Rare: 7 per day - 3000 GP

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The runes inscribed on sending stones act as antennas transmitting their signals throughout the plane. These signals work the same as using the Sending stone on a person, picking up on the connection and sending the message to the owner's mind in perfect clarity.

In game, Sending stones can send messages to any rune saved by a character. Runes can be shared by anyone and are tied to the stone itself, not the person. Messages sent through sending stones are not limited to 25 words as long as there are no long pauses in the messages.
Sending stones grow warmer when a message is received, growing hotter if many are received at once. These messages are played inside the person's mind, silent to anyone near by but must be active played by the holder.

Rarity

Sending stones come in 5 basic rarities based on their number of messages per day.
Sending stones that can send 1 message a day are extremely common, often given to children by parents encase of emergency.
Sending stones that send 3 messages are a little less common but most adventurers get one of these near the starts of their journeys.
Sending stones that send 5 or 7 messages are often very expressive and are often held by high level adventurers or militarily.
