Keris and Shyun
Keris was the first openly non-binary and bisexual faculty member. Shyun was their partner and identified as asexual. At the time the statue was commissioned, the school was pressured into recognising the LGBTQ+ community and identities, but didn’t want to upset the still conservative wider community. So while two statues were commissioned to celebrate the LGBTQ+ diversity, it was placed in a secluded corner of the school and has been forgotten by all except a select few who learnt of the academy’s secretive LGBTQ+ past.
