Battle Of Thunderston

In the year 3605, King Garund went to war with the indigenous fae olk who lives around Thunderston Lake. They were peaceful and simply wanted to remain in the land of their ancestors. The King, however, wanted the land to expand his army and to grow crops for the ever growing human population.   The war took place over four battles, most notably the one named "The Battle Of Thunderston". It actually took place where the fortified prison, Nightmaw, sits. The fae folk took their last stand there before attempting to cross the Vosi desert. King Garund took a guarded approach, sending his newly wed son-in-law, Hallmund, as well as his brother, Asbrand, and son, Garund II, to fight in his place. All three of them died in the fighting.   When the handful of distraught soldiers eventually returned to Maelis, King Garund applauded their bravery and didn't stop to mourn the loss of his family members. He ordered the city visit the Temple Of Life to give thanks for their victory over the fae folk.
