The Greek Isles. A land based on the myths and legends of Ancient Greece, a land isolated from the rest of the world, with few leaving and even fewer entering. According to legend, the realm these Isles reside in was created by the Castration of Ouranos, Father of the Heavens. After his fall, his children, known as the Titans, ruled the Heavens and the Mortal Realm. The Golden Age began but quickly fell as The King of the Titans Kronos’ children, the Gods, were born.   It gave way to the Silver Age, a time of feuds between the Titans and Gods over the throne. The First Titan War was won by the Gods, and Zeus and his siblings banished their elders to Tartarus, never to return to either plane of existence. With the Titans imprisoned, the Three Brothers, Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades divided the realms amongst themselves. Zeus controlled the Heavens, Poseidon claimed the seas, and Hades was left with the Underworld.   As the mortals prospered, the Gods decided to appeal to them for worship. It was the dawn of the Bronze Age, where Gods could interact freely with their worshippers. This led to the rise of heroic feats in the name of the Gods, and the demigods, children of both mortal and celestial parentage, emerged. While this occurred, the Titans were slowly regaining their power as groups of mortals formed cults to worship the fallen rulers. They broke free of their bonds in Tartarus, and they returned to the Heavens to reclaim their stolen thrones.   This struggle sparked the largest war known to either realm: The Second Titan War. For 95 years, both celestials and mortals fought, God against Titan, worshipper against heretic. Through a narrowly achieved victory, the Gods held their ownership of the Heavens and for the second time, the Titans were cast into Tartarus. The war was not won without a heavy toll, however, and the Gods retreated to the Celestial realm and withdrew their influence over mortals to recover.   Chaos erupted among the leaderless religious authorities in the powerhouses of civilization, and the world fell into the Age of Silence. Magic and religious power dwindled, Delphi being the only remaining godly power as others crumbled. A single city-state still held onto the idea that the Titans should rule: Troy. A prophecy about a child bringing back the Titans with their blood sparked a war between Troy and the larger city-states Athens and Sparta. For seven years they fought until Troy was burnt to the ground. As the feud came to a close, minor gods began emerging earlier than their stronger brethren, and mortals turned to their for worship instead of the Olympians.   Now, Ares and Athena fight for Zeus’ throne as he and Poseidon slowly emerge from their slumber. Persephone rules over the Underworld in her husband’s place while Thanatos pines for the throne. As the Gods slowly return, the Age of Silence ends. A new dawn is rising.   Welcome to The Heroic Era.
