Zoltan Meszaros
Zoltan Laslo Meszaros (a.k.a. Zoli)
The village carpenter and handyman. He also does woodwork and carving and works at brewing with Thorvald, his friend. He is also the cooper and Cartwright for the village as need be. He likes to smoke and always has a pipe and tobacco on him. He is a frequent guest at Belle Willowberry's table. He will always help out someone who needs an extra hand.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Strong backed and well-padded. A little wide about the middle but not exceedingly so. He is robust in his labor, works hard and steadily, and is generally solidly built and able-bodied.
Body Features
Tan to occasionally ruddy-skinned. Thick torsoed with a head full of wavy, dark hair. Ethnically Genovian, he looks every bit the descendant of those seaside, sun-kissed people.
Facial Features
Plain featured and friendly-faced. He is neither overly handsome, nor unpleasant to look upon. His handsomeness falling somewhere in the middle.
Identifying Characteristics
He carries a number of scars from mishaps occurring on his many jobs and from accidents associated with his labors. Though none are prominent or alarming to look upon.
Apparel & Accessories
Solid Alpine work clothes are his everyday apparel. A good leather apron hung with tools for a variety of tasks. He is often seen smoking his pipes sometimes even while laboring. A wreath of pleasant-smelling smoke encircling his head wile he hammers or saws.

He carries a duffel-bag and carpenter's carry-box of tools with him about town most places he goes.

Personal history
A hard-working craftsman and laborer. Locally employed in all manner of needed and useful workings. His projects and endeavors are solid and soundly done, though he lacks the benefit of Guild teaching. He is versed in several stone and wood related crafts and professions to varying degrees. Has worked to acquire and possess a great amount of practical tools for a wide variety of tasks and has ample opportunity to use them around the village.
He has courted several local girls and ladies to varying degrees of success and is a bachelor known about the village. None of them have ever yet accepted his hand in marriage. Though he has come close. The relationships between men and women being what they are, circumstances have conspired more than once to drive apart his female associations.
For his adult years he has served as a widely contributing member of the community of Westfell Dell. more than half of the newer repairs done about town in the last decade have seen the work of his hand, along with that of his friend, Thorvald of Graustark.
He lives near the center of town in a cottage notable for the generous strewing-about of all manner of lumber and building materials from roof tiles to shaped flagstones. His home seems to attract cats and no less than three of them can be seen lying about the yard at any time. Though one rarely sees him pay overmuch attention to them.

Zoli is charmed by pretty ladies and girls and while cautious about them, is strictly interested in their charms and in associating with them when available. He is currently secretly involved with Belle Willowberry.
Education
He has worked under the eye of several craftspersons about Westfell Dell and Little Ox including a bit away at Ravenfaire. Never under full apprenticeship and never with an angle at joining a guild. He has labored throughout his life and is no stranger to hard work. He willingly puts in long hours and will labor from dawn til sundown at a steady pace until the job is done.

Accomplishments & Achievements
Zoli has replaced the thatch, repaired the house walls, raised the barns, built the field-walls and build the family additions of over a dozen of Westfell Dell's cottages over the years. He has built numerous hen-houses, stables, sheds graineries and smokehouses as well.
Failures & Embarrassments
Mister Meszaros has poor luck with women, historically speaking. Even after having courted a handful of eligible maids and matrons of the community, he still has no wife to mend with clothes and keep his home.
Intellectual Characteristics
Zoli is a jolly and crude tradesman. Given to ribald humor and risque japes and witticisms. He has an exceedingly practical and un-glamorous view of interpersonal relationships, that while likely, very realistic and spot-on, does not endear him to ladies of gentle character. That being said, he is helpful, insightful into the ways and means of work and labor. Eminently pragmatic. Reasonable and ready to be of service to his community.

Mister Meszaros' philosophy is uncomplicated. A do-what-needs-be-done man or straight talk and action. He is not given overmuch to philosophical musings unless at leisure with his pipes and in the evening when the day's work is well done. He believes in quality work and in sound craft.
