The grand capitol city of the Principality of Ruritania
Demographics
By-and-large a human city. It would be fair to say its people are 50% human 20% Halfling, 10% Dwarf, 10% Elf and 10% everything else. But the Halflings have a strong voice in the council. And are generally respected as ‘solid citizens’ and a ‘model minority’. The yardstick by which all other races are measured in terms of how understood and generally accepted they can be. In Ancelstierre, Elves are usually deeply respected as a pinnacle-civilization race. Dwarves are respected as a highly industrious, excellent trade and mercantile race. Gnomes are handled cautiously until well-settled in the community as they are prone to ‘strangeness’, as the locals put it.

Infrastructure
The peace is kept by the Royal Guard. Captains are posted and stationed throughout the city. Cadres of men-at-arms and yeomen keep the peace in the King's name under the leadership of Captains appointed for merit by knights or lords.
Guilds of Craftsmen and Tradeguilds flourish under the support and protection of the crown. The close relationship between the crown and the mercantile houses benefits all sides and the common folk equally. The main coin of the realm, The golden 'Guilder', is proof positive of the high place in the infrastructure of Ruritania's economy of these Guilds.
Individual Freeman tradesmen and Craftsmen are protected by the crown as well. The guilds kept in check from driving them out of business by royally decreed price controls on goods and services. Allowing everyone to prosper equally without groups of mercantile interest being free to crush industrious individuals.
Laborers prosper and fill the vast majority of supportive needs of the infrastructure of Ancelstierre. Thousands of happy, productive and comfortably compensated workers create great benefit for the city, sweeping streets, tending to public parks and gardens, tending to the city's lamps at sunup and sundown, and laboring and countless other tasks that keep this great city shining and glorious.

An international seaport, Trade and Craft Guilds, strong labor, bountiful agricultural and maritime assets, forestry, cultural and religious centers, monuments and libraries, military and naval fortresses. The King's castle and high seat of the kingdom.
