The Central Plains
The central plains is located in the center of the continent, between the hilly forests and the Southern Deserts. A significant portion of the inhabitants of the continent live in this area due to its preferable climate (20-25 Celsius during Summer, 10-15 Celsius during winter.) due to the warm ocean currents of the western coasts, its high suitability for agriculture as well as the safety provided by the Kingdom.
There is a limited amount wildlife in the area, with a significant portion of it being smaller birds (Mainly tits, ducks, and crows) and mammals (Mainly rabbits and mice). Due to its proximity to the forest areas, there have been sightings of mammal predators (Primarily Wolves, Foxes, and occasionally even Brown Bears) entering the central plains in search of food. In such cases the locals are forced to provide bounties on the extermination of such wildlife.
One of the main features of the central plains are the vast amount of rivers which flow through the land. Throughout the years, the water of these rivers have been been diverted by locals to feed themselves and their farms with water. The farms which feed on these rivers produce high quantities of grains, potatoes and fruits which is enough to feed the entire populace of the Kingdom.
On top of agriculture, the locals have strong expertise in the raising of cattle, chicken and sheep to be able to satisfy local meat and dairy consumption. Most of the time however, little to no meat is directly consumed by local populace, but its transported to the capital to feed the local nobles and garrisons. Tax laws state that one out of every five cattle is property of the Noble Family and his Guards. Such strict tax practices has led to the centralization to cattle farming, mostly being limited to the farms owned by the Noble Families themselves.
There are few cities and villages in the central plains along the river, most distinguished one being the capital city with a population of roughly 40 thousand. The capital city is located on the heart of the river, which provides enough clean water for the entire population. The large amount of foreign trade entering the capital has led to a significant population of craftsmen and blacksmiths opening shop in the city.
