Dead Lake

The dead lake is located on the south-eastern side of the continent, located near the coast of the south sea. The lake has a long coast coated with large clumps of salt. The water is clear blue, while tints of green are spread out deeper into the water. The lake is the largest source of salt in the continent.   The dead lake is unique in its inability to filter out the water from its system, rather water continuously feeds into the lake through underground water sources connected to the ocean. The flow occurs due to the lake being located below sea levels. The evaporating water due to the high temperatures in the region result in the saltiness of the lake to continuously increase over time.   Having contact with the water of the dead lake has shown to irritate skin, continuing intensely until the water is washed off with cleaner water. The zones surrounding the lake are covered with rows of mountains reaching up to 500 meters, barren in its surfaces. One of the larger mountains is recognized to be a dormant volcano. Some mountains are seen to have natural caves.   Temperatures surrounding the area usually are around 30 – 35 Celsius, reaching up to 45 Celsius during summer. The high level of water evaporation results in there being an average level of humidity of 70 points (high).   The tall mountains are able to provide a limited amount of shade throughout morning and evening. However, virtually no shades exist between 12:00 – 16:00, creating high level of risks for heat strokes.   It is possible to boil the water, especially without any challenges if the correct tools and technology are utilized. In addition the high level of humidity in the air can be collected with the sufficient technology.
