Mother Frances (FRAN sis)

An easygoing and forgiving woman, Mother Frances is of advanced age, shorter than one might expect, with heavily salted dark hair, and hates to admit that she needs spectacles to read. She has a snappy wit and a level head, and is always ready to go out of her way to help those in need.   She likes to tease about her mysterious past, and will tell a different story anytime she's asked. One can surmise from her talents that she was likely some kind of minstrel or performer in her youth. She can play lutes and bamboo flutes with skill, and fluently speaks a surprising number of languages.   She claims that her youthful vice was womanizing, and once she almost decided to settle down and start a family, but service called to her, and the needs of service would be a heavier burden on her time than would be fair to a family, so she committed to the church instead.   She has been serving the same chapel in Churchwall for at least fifteen years.
