Sandpoint

Resting in a natural cove along the cliff-lined Lost Coast region of Varisia, on the edge of the Varisian Gulf, Sandpoint is a small city that exemplifies the diverse people of the country. While only about thirty miles northeast of the city of Magnimar and technically under its rule, Sandpoint benefits from its isolated position in its ability to remain fairly independent. The most striking feature is the ruined beacon of the city that extends high above the cliffs of the coast, reflecting the ancient empire of Thassilon that existed here centuries before the present town was settled.

Recent History

Sandpoint is the place where the famous Heroes of Sandpoint were first adventuring together. During the swallowtail festival the Heroes performed their first service to the town by fighting off a mob of goblins. The Heroes again served by tracing a series of murders to the haunted mansion nearby and purged the evil from that place. The final great service was to save the town from an attack from dragons and Giants.
There now exists a great marble statue honoring the heroes in the center of town.
The close friend of the Heroes, Jonas, has built a vast tavern next to the temple on the north end of town. "Cayden's Place, Where everyone knows your name" is the most popular location in town.
