The Coins
This is the financial hub of Absalom. The Grand Bazaar is the centre piece of the district because there are few markets as large or prosperous in all of Golarion. While almost anything (legal) can be found here, it can take a very long time to find something specific. Misery Row is where slaves used to be sold and since slavery was banned, most law abiding citizens have shunned the area.
Demographics
Mixed and often fluctuating. Many merchants only stay for a season or two before leaving to acquire more goods.
Government
The Coin Council is currently lead by their Nomarch Myleena of House Arnsen.
Defences
The guards are locally known as The Token guards due to their lack of response without payment. Citizens must pay the guards for them to do a real investigate crimes. Many who can afford to live in The Coins will have enough money to pay this "fee" but the poorer citizens have little help from the law. The exception is if the crimes are becoming noticeable to rich or connected citizens outside the district. Then the law is heavily enforced.
Industry & Trade
It's trade. Most of it is legal trade but there is a black market on the outskirts.
