An emancipated halfling slave from Cheliax, freed during a daring midnight raid and deposited into the heartlands of Andoran by way of a strange magical device. Found by the party after being mugged on the side of the road, he is now a Cleric of Erastil in-training, trying to find his way as a free man. Fond of horses and other barnyard critters.

Personal history

"Jarn was born into a life of slavery in his native Cheliax, his parents and family unknown to him. For years, the boy was bought, sold, and traded amongst highborn nobility, and forced to toil away at their various country estates and plantations. During a raid by abolitionist freedom fighters, he was liberated and abruptly teleported into the Andoran heartlands by way of an experimental magical device. His emancipators instructed him to follow the road to Sauerton , where he found work at our winery and support from our temple.
I feared that the assault upon him by traveling vagrants would shake his faith and darken his demeanor, but he has proven to be most resolute, and his positive outlook persists. His new friends that saved him that day also spared the lives of the twin assailants, and when given the chance, Jarn acted in kind, requesting that the Sheriff allow the two young men to atone for their misdeeds through service rather than languishing in a cell.
The blessed mark appeared upon him without warning during his restoration of a nearby wayshrine. In all my long years I have but only read about such things, and never expected to see one with my own eyes. In such a short time, his abilities have quickly outpaced the rest of our clerics. While our town and temple would certainly be enriched by his continued presence and service as an acolyte, I cannot in good conscience press the young man to trade one life of forced servitude for another. Blessed mark or not, Jarn must be allowed to choose his own path."
