Breachill

Nestled in the foothills of the Five King Mountains in the wilds of eastern Isger about 50 miles from the Druman border, Breachill is still a relatively young town of approximately 170 years. Despite its youth, the town has a unique history having started as an outpost of human amnesiacs who found themselves in the wilds of Isger barely knowing their names. Miraculously, this small group of 50 was found by an adventuring wizard by the name of Lord Lamond Breachton who helped these desperate people establish shelter along the banks of what would one day become Breach Creek.

Demographics

Breachill is primarily human in its demographics, but the population does include dwarves, half-elves, elves, half-orcs, gnomes, and even goblins.

Government

The town is democratic in its governance and every two years the town holds elections to choose five councilors who oversee the town's governing needs. Open positions go to those citizens who receive the most votes. The council oversees public services and the annual collection of taxes. They are also responsible for overseeing the town guard and facilitating monthly town council meetings and the monthly Call for Heroes.

Defences

The town is surrounded by a wall with three gates at the roads in and out of town, one in the southwest, one in the north and one in the northeast sections of the town. The city guard is largely an internal peacekeeping force of 50 people that focuses on crimes committed within the town limits. Patrols of the surrounding countryside and the roads into and out of town are left to trusted adventurers employed by the town at the monthly Call for Heroes.

Industry & Trade

Currently, two industries dominate the industry and trade of Breachill. Stoneworking and quarrying make up the leading industry with two businesses fighting for the market and trade - Posandi Brothers and their competitor Tuskhead Stoneworking. Lumber and carpentry are the second industry with Breach Creek Lumber serving as both a lumber mill and an employer of the best artisans and carpenters in the immediate region.   Other smaller businesses include a wainwright and a furrier whose owner creates high-end cold-weather outerwear shipped throughout the region.

Infrastructure

The Townhall sits roughly in the middle of town on the south shore of Breach Creek. Four bridges span the creek and the town sits in mostly equal parts on either side of this waterway. Just outside of town hall, the citizens established Monument Circle which acts as the visual centerpiece of the town. In the center of the ring sits a 15-foot tall statue of Lamond Breachton, Breachill's founding wizard. Six water towers ring this square and hold freshwater pumped from wells dug here to supply the needs of the town.

Guilds and Factions

Breachill's artisan guild is overseen by the temple to Shelyn. This temple is one of three in town with centers of worship also set aside for Desna and Cayden Cailean.   The citizens of Breachill pride themselves on their community spirit and tendency to help one another. If there are any "factions" this might be found between the Posandi Brothers and the owner of Tuskhead Stoneworking who vie against each other for the stoneworking business of the town and region.

Geography

Situated in the foothills of the Five King Mountains that town sits equally on either side of Breach Creek which runs west to the Cornerica River. The western edge of the Five King Mountains can be seen to the east of the town. Breachill sits on the edge of the Crimson Tide Wood to the south and at the bottom of Hellknight Hill to the North upon which sits the abandoned Hellknight fortress, Citadel Altaerein.

Natural Resources

The two greatest resources are stone quarried from the surrounding region and lumber harvested from the forests of the Crimson Tide Wood.
