Beauty Ideals

There isn't a beauty ideal for female Dwarves. Instead, males are considered handsome based entirely on their beard length and how well kept their beard is.

Gender Ideals

Dwarves do not have Gender Ideals.

Courtship Ideals

A male dwarf would try and make either a mighty weapon, a powerful piece of armor, or a beautiful set of jewelry, and would give it to the person they love, similar to how a human uses flowers. If the item(s) are accepted, than the dwarves are considered "In a relationship." if rejected, the Dwarf that made the item(s) is suppose to melt the item and make something else out of it, to symbolise that the dwarf had moved on. The same is suppose to happen if the dwarves ended their relationship.

Relationship Ideals

Dwarvish love is complex and odd. Dwarves typically enter into romantic relationships in the same way most other folk of the world make. Dwarves care not for gender or species, though a distrust and of over landers, and a near universal bullheadedness usually means that not many dwarves will get into an interspecies relationship, and have the single highest amount of gay marriages amongst the species at 20%.   Dwarvish marriage depends on the gender of the dwarves getting married. A man and a women will forge an amulet called an "Amulet of Bonding." Two men getting married must make a suit of armor called "Armor of Bonding." Two women getting married must make a crown called the "Crown of Bonding."

Average Technological Level

Dwarves are able to work forges and create weapons and armor.

Common Etiquette Rules

Common Dress Code

Dwarves must wear a shirt, pants, and shoes.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

Dwarves highly value the ties between family members and friends, weaving tightly knit clans. Dwarves particularly respected elders, from whom they expected sound leadership and the wisdom of experience, as well as ancestral heroes or clan founders. This idea carried on to relations with other races and dwarves were deferential even to the elders of another, non-dwarven race. Likewise, dwarves, perhaps more so than most other races, turned to their gods for guidance and protection.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals

Dwarves drink to remember, unlike most other Humanoids. They drink in celebration of the creation of an item, they drink in celebration to the death of a dragon. They drink to celebrate and to remember all the good times they had. A dwarf on his deathbed is often given enough alcohol to kill an elephant, so that they could remember all the great things they did when they were alive and well.

Common Taboos

Even thinking about not working, to a dwarf, is considered a Taboo in their culture. Even when taking a break, they often think about how they will finish their work.

History

Dwarves are one of the main races of Godsen. On the year 5wr, the first few dwarves were spawned underground. At this time, they looked more like rock and steel constructs then they did Dwarves, and did not live as long as a normal dwarf. The first dwarf Clan was created in 40wr, named the Thumothar, and was a clan specialized in Blacksmithing. While they lived comfortably for this time, they began becoming the dwarves we know about. This clan lasted for 500 years (540wr), until they were invaded by Fire Giants, and the race was enslaved. After 4 years (544wr), most had escaped, with the few who were unable to escape eventually becoming Azer. These escapees found Human settlements, and would ask for safety among them. The humans agreed, and after another 50 years (594wr), the Dwarves went out to build their homes. The dwarves split and made their own clans. At this time, the Dwarves looked like what they they look like now. Once these strongholds where made, most dwarves were at peace.   However, one clan, the Duergar clan, traveled deeper into the earth in search for better materials for smithing, only to be intercepted by Illithids, and enslaved for some time (Until 1342wr). They were mentally tortured by the horrors, being experimented on to bring about their psionic abilities so that they are both easier to control, and where more useful.   On 2017wr, the Calamity event had happened, and the dwarves where relatively unaffected due to living underground away from the Chaos. However, they did manage to get workers in the form of City kobolds in the Year 2113wr. After the event, it was business as usual for the dwarves.

Common Myths and Legends

The legend of how the dwarves came to the world is that they were crafted from the strongest steel by Moradin.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Dwarves are well liked by Humans, and are neutral to most other races. Duergar absolutely hate Dwarves, and City Kobolds like them.   Dwarves and City Kobolds work together so much that they have become great allies. Dwarves also have good relations with gnomes, because of the gnome's tinkerative nature being similar to the dwarf's smithing nature.   Dwarves dislike all monstrous races, but hate Duergar the most. They see duergar as Dwarves who had strayed from their gods light, and hate them for it.
Dwarf Adventurers   Dwarves who left their strongholds to become adventurers did so for a number of reasons. In part, a dwarf might be motivated by simple avarice, given the dwarven love of beautiful things. As often, however, a dwarf might be motivated by a drive to do what was right for others (particularly their clan) or a love of excitement because, as settled as dwarves were, they rarely tired of thrills.
