Career Progression

Druids always start out as saplings, which are effectively followers of a druidic circle. Most saplings take up professions such as nature scribes, guardians of forests, and servants of nature. Some druids go down the path of the ranger or the nature cleric, but most become Shrubs, which is like the sapling, but shrubs gain magical powers. After shrub, comes the Tree, who can lead small communes of druids, as well as teach saplings and shrubs the basics of their circle. This is often the stopping point for Druids, as Grand Oaks (Sometimes called Arch Druids) are something that requires years of dedication to join. Grand Oak Druids can command all communes that can be found in their areas, and control what can be taught by the trees of these communes.   This is the general progress of a Druid. Druids that follow the circle of the moon and the circle of the spores are different. Those that follow the circle of the moon start as a pup, which is the same as the sapling in every way. After pup, comes the younglings, who are the same as shrubs. Wolves are the trees of the circle of the moon. The archdruids, however, are called "High Cursed." Even if a druid gains the abilities of an archdruid, they have no power unless they are cursed by lycanthropy, and can overcome their tendencies. Those druids that fail to do so become servants of the High Cursed, becoming an "Unremarkable", and are usually commanded to kill trespassers and poachers.   Circle of spores druids start as spores, which are the same as shrubs. Moss are slightly different to shrubs, as they are tasked with setting up the rite of the mushroom. The Fungi are the same as the tree, added that they do the rite of the mushroom. Above Fungi are the Grand Death. In order to become a Grand Death, a Fungi must successfully consume a stew filled with 8 of the most poisonous mushrooms in the area, including the Mushroom called "Death's Head," which are known to be able to harm Green Dragons. Those that survive become horribly disfigured, and will begin growing mushrooms on their person. Those that fail, and those unlucky souls who are captured by the circle and have had gone through the rite of the mushroom, become "Servants of the spores." These creatures are no more than mindless zombies, controlled by the mushrooms that grow on their body.
