Captain Cleff
Cleff is a retired Zora Military Captain. Now, he simply commands his own ship and takes up jobs through the Adventurer's guild.

Personal history
Cleff was an outstanding and esteemed Zora captain who loved adventure. He traveled the seas and shores with his wife, and frequently took up difficult requests from the Zora leaders. He and her bought an island to raise their kids. It is off the shore of the mainland, close to the pirate's stronghold.
His wife died about 10 years ago. She was tending to her eggs in a clear spring on a small island which Cleff had claimed as his own vacation spot on his adventures. Cleff was fishing at sea while she tended to them deep on the island. They didn’t know a Talus was so close to the spring. His wife ran across it and was killed. Her body tainted the water and the zola hatched. They were exiled to the dungeon.
After his wife's death, Cleff only returned to the island to bury her and defeat the Talus. He never came back after that, and instead continued to adventure to keep his mind off of it. One of these adventures of his involved him locating other Tali in the world, and writing their locations down. Unfortunately, the original journal was dropped near the Talus of Water.
Today, he has been tasked with taking Zora eggs to Mellie so that they do not hatch into Zola in the foam.
Education
Cleff was taught by his mother and father, who were sailors and fishermen.
Employment
He has been a captain for the Zora's Ocean Outpost and an adventurer for the guild.
Accomplishments & Achievements
He has slain many beasts and fought for the zora's protection for many years. He located the majority of elemental Tali, but did not slay them, noting that they were asleep, and if left undisturbed, would not be a problem.
Failures & Embarrassments
He failed to save his wife and children. He made quite an embarrassing tantrum when the Zora were exiling his kids to Zola domain. Since it is tradition that all Zola go there, and it is believed they are like monsters, his outcries were considered dishonorable.
Mental Trauma
His wife's death and children's exile haunts him continuously. He copes with it by sailing and adventuring. He maintains a smile and positive attitude for his crew, but when left alone to think, he often breaks down.

Cleff is a good guy with a soft, gentle heart. He believes in the good of the world, and frequently prays to Nayru and Cyclos. However, he doesn't really like Cyclos all that much...

Although he does adventure, he is not in the adventurer's guild. He has been asked if he would like to be, but has not joined as his favorite part of adventuring is wandering and discovering his own path.
