Of-Many-Forms

Our Lady of Clay (a.k.a. The Horror of Flesh)

The Versal Lady most commonly known as the Horror of Flesh had a name once, but (so the stories go) tore it away from herself and purged it in blood and acid. A new one formed regardless, a clumsy descriptor, but in her estimation she has gained so much more.   Of-Many-Forms has a fascination for life which goes far beyond even her capabilities and purview. Though she may create living beings from any substance, with peculiar biologies accompanying them, she prefers far and away to work with flesh and blood. So great is her devotion to the fleshcraft which she is the pioneer and undisputed grandmaster of that she carries her works with her, the better to practice her art constantly. And she may occupy them simultaneously and instantaneously, at no hindrance to herself: she may be seen as a mob of the dominant life-forms of her current location, a pair of twin sisters holding hands, a prepubescent girl who can spread plagues at a touch, and many more besides. Regardless of what form she takes, she will always have red eyes.   All insects which undergo complete metamorphosis recognise the Horror of Flesh as their queen and mass in strange patterns abhorrent to the eye to honor her. Plants are all too familiar with her ways as her most adored test subjects, however, and produce foul-smelling sap and nectar to drown out the sickly-sweet odor of blood and honey which follows in her wake.   Those who serve the Horror of Flesh are invoked for their skills in shaping life and dominion over disease; they have the might of gods and are petitioned as such. Only the powerful, ignorant, or desperate (sometimes all three at once) call on the Horror of Flesh herself, enticed by the greater miracles she can perform. However, she considers the mind an emergent quality of life and has no qualms about altering it as she deems necessary. Combined with the Pantheon’s credo, this rarely works out well for her summoners.   When a child of an overbearing authority figure accepts their parent’s relentless efforts to mold them into someone they are not and begins to think only of pleasing them, Of-Many-Forms considers this a summoning which she is all too happy to answer.
