A vast desert with a surprisingly high population found in the central largest land mass of the Merk. It is mainly a resourceless, arid wilderness, with a few key oasis scattered around - largely held as main settlements within the country. The most expansive organization in the Merk, the Conglomerate, originate from the Regno desert - starting off as a small tribe stealing from neighboring nations for resources, they are now a significantly widespread group of enforcers.

Geography

The largest desert in the Merk, filling nearly 15% of the realm, Regno is only bordered by landlocked countries and the Regno Sea. Whilst identifying as one large country, Regno is still bigger than 3 of the other largest countries combined together.

Ecosystem

The contrast of arid, hot climate and diverse oasis ecosystems cause the land to be full of highly-adapted lifeforms - though most are unbothered by humans. Some of the uncommon sub-species of demons and angels, Devils, which are able to survive around humans without metamorphizing into an unpure creature, tend to favor the dry and scorching temperatures of the areas furthest away from oasis, where variants such as Desert Dukes, Squires and Porters can be found.

History

Regno begins life as a harsh, open space with only small accustomed tribes able to live in the desert; with most tribes choosing to go outside the desert for resources and supplies anyway. The Conglomerate integrate all the best technology and techniques from each civilization they spread into, eventually conquering almost all of the continent Regno resides in. In the future, Regno's large expanses of open space lead to the industrialization of the desert - with huge solar-powered cities erecting over all the empty space in the country.
