Tanzenvite (Tan-zehn-vight)

Primarily brought by Lugh's comet every 137 years, it starts as the fragments of the comet grazing off in Gi'ardi's atmosphere, falling through four layers of atmosphere via gravity, and then, being heavier than the air present, falling to the ground, where it becomes part of a layer of strata in the ground. To be clear, this comet was present for centuries prior to the Empyreans and nymphs tracking its progress and cycles across the sky. The comet was named after Lugh, the first king of the Empyreans, who is held responsible for the founding of the Peri and the Tuath in particular as well as the foundation of Ghabat Alsama, the southern-most fairyland which centers around southern Bharata and the Kaudn islands, which connect to ancient eruptions near the land that is now the South Pole of the planet. It is not only a beautiful blue color that is used to give architecture an intricate and shiny overlay but a power source: it can be used in harnessing solar power, giving basically endless electrical power. Unfortunately, when mixed with coal or bronze or iron for too long, its power is weakened - not gone, mind you, but unable to be produced because it's too polluted, and the coal or bronze or iron that's with it is also rendered useless in their usual purposes. So, humans toss it when it doesn't work how they want it to (which is usually with coal power). This, in addition to the use of the sacred metal Orichalcum, is why the Empyreans and nymphs sank the Atlantis empire. The thing that actually wrecks tanzenvite is one humans don't discover for a long time - liquid Nitrogen and its freezing point, and the hottest possible desert temperatures of the Haratan desert in Kipatria. This was part of the reason that it took a while for any nymph or Empyrean to start exploring and protecting desert animals and plants - it's hard to get power out there that sustains (despite the sun). As neither space travel nor synthetic tanzenvite has been invented yet, this element is only found in nature.

Properties

Physical & Chemical Properties

conducts electricity via solar power, bent into furniture and architecture, both interior and exterior.

Geology & Geography

Typically searched for in major mountain ranges, as well as technically the center of the planet.

Origin & Source

One of the key minerals of the universe, found deep in the core of the earth - as in, too far down for anyone to reach unless they want to destroy several hundred kilometers of landscape and solid ground. It is also found in meteorites and (although the humans and fairies do not know this) on other planets. When the Lugh's comet comes by, the powdery, almost microscopic dust form of this mineral rains from the sky. Prior to Empyrean discovery of it, it formed strata in the earth that could be seen if you knew what to look for. This mineral was used in the creation of magical gems, with the combination of basic elements and compounds becoming solid crystals when tanzenvite was involved. Because of this, the mineral was viewed as a source of wealth, but because of the frequency of Lugh's comet (137 years), it was also limited in supply and replenishment.
