Ducatel (Doo-ka-tel)

Ducatel was a large city controlled by the Venmaya Trade Guild. It was overrun and razed by Imperial forces 20 years ago. Shortly after the Imperials razed the city, what little remained was flattened by a nuclear explosion as the Republic desperately tried to halt the Imperial advance.Ducatel was a city once controlled by the Venmaya Trading Guild. Ducatel was razed by the Imperial army and then what was left was flattend by a nuclear bomb.

Before the war, Dutatel was mostly inhabited by halflings, tieflings and elves.

History

Ducatel was founded by the Venmaya Trading Guild as a way to better accommodate merchant convoys crossing from southern to northern Iyass. Over the centuries, the settlement grew into a city as the travelling merchants brought more and more money to the town.
During the Fourth Draconic Crusade, Venmaya was taken over by Imperial forces. When the Imperials entered the city, they blocked the roads and set up round the clock patrols to prevent anyone from escaping. Once the city had been thoroughly secured the Imperial Army began to methodiclly kill evrey man woman and child they found. The most common methods of execution were murdering residents where they stood, or by rounding them up and locking them into buildings, where the structures would either be burned down or filled with poison gas.
Once the city was emptied of it's resident's, the remaining structures were set ablaze and left to burn. 2 days later, 3 nuclear bombs detonated within 20 miles of the city. The resulting shockwaves leveled any remaining structures and tore up the city's road network.
Currently, Ducatel lies as an abandoned ruin. Very few are brave or foolish enough to venture into the city given the high radioactivity and presence of mutants within the ruins.

Geography

Ducatel is located within the Whitesburg Exclusion Zone. As such, the land surrounding the city is barren and lifeless.
