Adomata x-TYPE

With a completely technological and mechanized body and mind, Adomata straddle the line between man and machine. Their creation was only possible with the joint effort of two nephilim with affinities for Body and Mind. Through a complete soul transfer, one's essence can be siphoned into computer software all but identical to the human brain in build and capability, yet engineered with a machine's efficiency. With the first few models, the change was jarring and brought about existential crises with many of the patients involved. However, progress over a number of years at Rubedo Technologies has resulted in significant design improvements in later models such as improved secondary A.I and reinforced sub-dermal wiring.
An Adomata's design varies depending on the chassis type. Universal features include a humanoid shape as to provide a smoother transition between bodies, a head component with camera features along with a small monitor, and complex internal hardware centralized to the midsection that dwarfs a 21st-century supercomputer's capabilities. Z-Types (No official full designation, given the nickname "Zombie-Types"), were the first models to see the public eye and were paraded as being the progenitors for a trans-humanist revolution, but numerous incidents involving the first few test subjects led to a quiet and unofficial retiring of the line early in its life-cycle. Shortly afterward, A-Type (Assistance-Type) models began circulating, functionally identical to the Z-Types and mostly being appointed to government officials and areas in particular disarray. T (Tech) and C (Combat) models shortly followed, though only the T-Type was publicly available. The Combat model, in particular, had two variations; A-C (Assault-Combat) models for mainland reclamation and other problems in need of direct action, and R-C (Riot-Combat) models largely meant to remove the risk of having human peacekeepers in troublesome locations, as well as taking the rolls of street patrols. The standalone T-Type model, on the other hand, was constructed with a larger frontal display and significantly upgraded internals in exchange for the standard movement capabilities of other Adomata, this model is restricted to movement on treads. Its cooling system is much less subtle than other models' as it is rarely meant for use in public spaces. Rumors of an X-Type with a full suite of previous chassis' abilities have been rumored in the past, but such plans have no chance of being made public any time soon.
Research on the Adomata began even before Armageddon, all of which miraculously survived the transferal to a lab along the Pathway. All of this was organized and carried out by head scientist Aston Revell, a nephilim with an affinity for the body. His extensive understanding of the human bodies capabilities and limits, as well as his unprecedented efficiency in research and design, gave his relatively small team a dominating advantage over any possible competitors. Only with another nephilim's help, however, did he perfect the practice of soul siphoning and transferal.
Resistance to the new wave of technology was an inevitability, and promptly accounted for. Having moved his base of operations to the Trans-Atlantic, Revell made an appeal to its officials to enact protection laws for the Adomata. They are considered a protected species, and therefore any damage inflicted on their person carries a government fine proportional to the severity. Of course, this doesn't stop the more nefarious sort to kidnap Adomata, disassembling them for their internals and scrapping the chassis. Even with this present threat, however, human-adomata relations are generally smooth, the two providing for each other consistently enough.

Ecology and Habitats

Adomata generally immerse themselves in society, unless assigned a task requiring deployment elsewhere. They are largely water resistant but go into a coma-like safety mode if immersed in too much water, making them ill-suited for living in the wild.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They don't need to eat nor sleep. However, a temporary shutdown is advised after a number of days in order for the A.I to perform maintenance.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

High resolution and full-color frontal and rear cameras aligned at the head provide sight. A number of audio transducers are fitted along the chassis, but various sonar options are available as well. Most Adomata models actually have working tastebud-like components but are only cleared to eat specialized gels provided by Rubedo. Smell is not currently possible among the available models, but a statement has been put out addressing this issue, promising integration with their next model and an upgrade patch available for current Adomata.
