Gestalt

"It remains unknown to us, what ground the surface world to ash. Now the nights are long and only the lights dotted 'cross the grey skies illuminate pale patches over the Obsidian Carapace."   The Gestalt is the largest inhabited city on the Carpace, the long stretch of land named so for the thick shell coating its surface. It is the center of the new world, a great, complicated hub of many moving parts both organic and inorganic. Insectoid beings rule the city and much of the land surrounding it, while humans are driven out to the Carpace's outskirts to eke out a living by any means that they can.
