Woburgh-Vlesa

The thriving and leading city-state of the Narkeya Region   Roughly two millennia ago, during the last of the Underfolks push for the stars, the city of Woburgh-Vlesa was founded out of the joining together of two disparate settlements: Woburgh, a primarily human fishing village on the island in the middle of Vonshu Bay, and Vlesa, a Dwarven scouting company that emerged from the Underlands ahead of the main force of dwarves it was formed to guard.

Government

Woburgh-Vlesa, from its founding, possesses a form of government that its residents affectionately call a "lithocracy" honoring the city's dwarven roots. The seven founding organizations each appoint one of their number to represent their interests and serve the city, each office being called a Stone and symbolically depicted by various precious gems.

Sanctuary Gorm Frostower Elyon worship, seminary studies,
The Institute Oscar Hubert Ransproggle academic studies, research and education

The Noble Houses Percival
The Frostowers have the unique position in being a family with two individuals as guildheads. Unfortunately family tensions have resulted in a lost of a relationship between the dwarven brothers.

Industry & Trade

Woburgh-Vlesa is the culmination of two disparate settlements, that by the guiding hand of providence and the Immortals, have become a single city sharing in the various differences of its humble beginnings. The blanket term for Woburgh-Vlesa's industrial machine is the Green and the Grey, borrowing its name from the epitaph of the twin Immortals of nature and civilization who once made their home on the outskirts.   From its dwarven roots, Woburgh-Vlesa produces and refines much of the region's metal and metalworks, including stonework and jewelry. From its human and lesser-known elven roots, Woburgh-Vlesa's fishing and hatcheries are second to none, though the city's most robust natural production comes from its maple syrup orchards and the fine maple syrup-based industry lead by the halfling owned and operated Woburgh-Vlesa Maple Syrup Consortium.   There is an up and coming collection of dairy ranchers as well.
