Alysa Silverleaf

Crown Princess of the elven kingdom of Silverleaf , Alysa and her brother Elasion were the sole survivors of the royal family when the city fell to Seraphs. A talented mage and healer known for her diplomacy, courage and grace, she is instrumental in keeping her people together and overseeing Silverleaf’s later revival.

Personality

Raised with all the expectations of elven royalty despite being the heir to an empty throne, Alysa learned social graces from a young age and has a quick wit and a cool head under pressure. She knows the value of being pleasant and sociable but keeps her real emotions carefully in check. While she's possessed of a strong will and is well capable of handling herself, she's diplomatic to a fault; she thinks carefully about what she says and the potential repercussions. From a young age she's been raised to handle situations smoothly, and projects a great deal of confidence even when she doesn't necessarily feel it. Around those she trusts enough to open up to, Alysa is surprisingly passionate. She might keep her feelings locked away but tends to care very strongly about the things that matter to her, and it means a lot to her when she finds people who she feels she can express herself freely around. She enjoys scholarly pursuits and the healing arts, and sees them as a rare opportunity for solitude and relaxation in a life that so often demands her attention be focused on others. While feeling a strong sense of responsibility towards her people, Alysa has no ambitions towards the crown and cares very little for her royal status.

Abilities

Alysa is a Healer mage, with a secondary focus in Casting. She's honed both to a high level of proficiency, enjoying the feeling of self-reliance they give her and the meditative nature of refining her skills. When it comes to Casting, Alysa tends to favor 'raw' casting utilizing light and force. She's a creative and intuitive mage with rigid control that allows her more refinement than is typical for those types of energy, sacrificing some raw power for greater stability and longevity; as a general rule she isn't a front-line fighter, and she uses her magic for sharp bursts of attacks interspersed with protectively shielding herself or allies. While Alysa is more than capable of handling herself if she's forced to, she doesn't seek out conflict and sees her battle magic as a way to deter or hold off attackers. Alysa's real strength is her skill as a healer. It's been a lifelong passion, and growing up in the Royal House of Darkmere meant that she had plenty of opportunity to study with the best teachers available. Like most of the best healers, Alysa's magical skills work in tandem with a strong base in practical herbalism, anatomy, and nonmagical healing methods. She's put in an enormous amount of work to reach the level she's at at a relatively young age, and enjoys the chance to help others in a world where she often feels like she has to be restrained and reserved.

Important Relationships

DARIUS SERAPH
Meeting through their mutual friendship with the Reaper Artemis Hunter, Darius and Alysa's initial distrust and prejudices about one another faded as they spent time together. Though they started as healer and patient, they recognized something familiar in each other that proved stronger than their considerable differences; while both Darius and Alysa pride themselves on total control over their feelings, they felt an attraction and kinship towards one other that resisted all their best efforts to suppress it.
ARTEMIS HUNTER
Alysa first met Hunter when she and her brother were sent to help protect and train the young Reaper; in time, their relationship as mentor and pupil evolved into genuine friendship. Despite her knowing him for a relatively short portion of her life when compared to the whole, Alysa comes to consider her allegiance to Hunter stronger than her ties to the royal court at Darkmere.
ELASION SILVERLEAF
Elasion is Alysa's older brother, and has been fiercely protective of her ever since they were both children. While the two love each other and are united in their dedication to what remains of Silverleaf's people, they're fairly different in personality and tend to spend their time on different pursuits. Alysa sometimes finds herself frustrated by her brother's overbearing nature and his tendency to speak and act on her behalf rather than asking her what she thinks.
