Started from living in a brothel until he was eight, then he was bought from a nobleman who paid for his instruction and everything , Kai thought he had been adopted , and that the old man who bought him was his real father or something, but on his fifteenth birthday he was told he had to repay all the old man had done for him , he was raped and told that in an year, if he was a good enough boy, the man would marry him, otherwise he would be sold to the highest bidder. It was a common thing between A Kd's nobility, to have young poor boys indebted to you then force them to marry so one could have a young loyal wife without the hussle of respecting her. It didn't made much different if it was a boy or d girl, after all with all the magic they could do having a child Wds easy. The day before the marriage, Kai decided to go visit his mother, but she was dead, Killed by one of his future husband's lackeys the day after he Wds bought. In that momen Kai lost his reason, his mind drawing in pain and desperation tapped into an incredible power dormant within him. He had Studied magic like every A Kahlan, but he had not been permitted to use it so he could not control it. He destroyed the brothel, killing everybody in it and went to hide in the city as far from the noble district as he could and, by himself , he learned how to survive and use magic. He wanted o to escape from the hell that was Aka but the barrier was in place, so he had no other choice than destroy it, becoming the new king. He would no longer allow anyone else to cage him like he had been all his life, no. he was strong and he would have killed anyone In his way. Soon he took control of a small group of rebels, he made them strong an together they staged a coup and overthrew the Red King. The first thing he did . was have te old man castrated and bled to death in front of his court and anyone who wanted to Look.
