Land of Indigo

If this land were to be described in one word, it would be wet. The heart of this land is nestled between two long, winding rivers and sat along the shore. The rain here never seems to end, making sunny days a rarity. But the land is bountiful - fruit-bearing trees dot the landscape and vegetation grows with ease. A long mountain range straddles the land, altitude rising as you go north and east. Lakes can also be found if you follow the northern river eastward; the southern river, meanwhile, spills into the Horseback Court's territory.   The people of this land were granted a "gift" by the Phoenix Queen - once per year, one randomized piece of art completed or worked to near completion on that day will manifest physically.

Phase 2

The people here have gathered together out of a desire to trade and work with the dyes produced here – while there are feuds over who exactly gets access to what, they are sorted with time and things remain relatively peaceful.

Phase 3

The appearance of painted lands, creatures, Wraiths – has thrown this land into chaos. It took some time for the land to figure out exactly what was going on; whispers of art springing to life trickled along the trade routes for years, growing as yet another village found itself confronted with the unbelievable. Each town tried their best to contain the potential threat - either pre-emptively or in case of another all-too-beautiful being that would attempt to devour the village – some attempted to regulate exactly who could produce art, some tried to restrict when, and others still tried to ban the production of art altogether. None were particularly successful. The need for greater communication among the villages became rapidly apparent - and a particularly charismatic merchant has begun to take advantage of this. He parades through villages on the first day of summer, sat atop his Painted Steed, offering wealth beyond imagination to the village that produces that year's Piece. A number of leaders are uncomfortable with his presence, but find themselves unable to stop him due to pressure from their citizens.   Contact and trade established with the Land of Tar.
