Lion People Species in Gates of Eternity | World Anvil

Lion People

The so called lion-morph is one of apex beastmen morph. Rather than forming separate societies (as common and uncommon ones) they are at best bloodlines of them left, living as a supreme caste of societies formed by other beastmen. They can be compared to imperial aristocracy... only one enforced biologically and almost always being insanely strong. As all apex morphs they tend to form a command structure of beastmen warhosts. Many of them end up as warlords, their personal bodyguards and officers, kings of beastmen held parts of Lana, captains of pirate ships and so on. They were created by the mix between old Meta-Beastmen and simple bears, through some sort of ancient rituals, now sadly forgotten. It is unknown why they were actually one of the most common morph chosen by now extinct proto-beastmen.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Humanoid, with two hands, two legs and head. They are, however, heavily dependent in terms of their looks at how far their morph settled in. On one extreme we have almost normal humans with only some outward characteristics of the lions - like ears (they tend to be the sort of a marker of a morph), slight changes to teeth, some improvement to senses. On the other extreme, there are practically antropomorphised lions, with their humanoid posture (and intelligence) being their only major difference from common bears.

Additional Information

Social Structure

They are herd animals. Always in a group. Though due to their low numbers, the actual size of the group is always minuscule (up to ten of them), living among much greater group of 'lesser' beastmen.
