Cat People

The so called cat-morph is one of two most common beastmen morphs, that together make for majority of beastmen population in the world. Due to how history of their specie went there tend to be a notable gender disparity among them, with females making for a majority.
Cat-morphs (especially females) were hunted by many beastmen warlords to serve as concubines, making surprisingly many of their females living among other morphs settlements. This also driven male cat-morphs almost to extinction, making actual cat people-majority settlements a rare sight, despite their overall number. When they does happen, they tend to be well hidden and protected by extremely ferocious females that have long ago become a dominant gender... at least those that remain as free people.
They were created by the mix between old Meta-Beastmen and simple cats, through some sort of ancient rituals, now sadly forgotten. It is unknown why they were actually one of the most common morph chosen by now extinct proto-beastmen.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Humanoid, with two hands, two legs and head. They are, however, heavily dependent in terms of their looks at how far their morph settled in. On one extreme we have almost normal humans with only some outward characteristics of the cat - like ears (they tend to be the sort of a marker of a morph), slight changes to teeth, some improvement to senses. On the other extreme, there are practically antropomorphised cats, with their humanoid posture (and intelligence) being their only major difference from common cats.

Genetics and Reproduction

With other beastmen regardless of their subspecie. Subspecie inheritance is linked to gender. Pregnancy circa nine months long, not really different than humans (with exception of slightly increased chance for multiple pregnancies). They are also notably more resistant to most typical genetic defects, but the difference is at best a ten percent or so.

Biological Cycle

For some reason they tend to be among beastmen subspecies most affected with heat. While most of beastmen have periods when they are just more in 'mood', in terms of catmen the effect is strong. Sometimes very strong. It tends to be a cycle, which makes it more or less predictable.
For some its merely a two-three weeks per year. For others, it can occur during every fertile period of their menstruation cycle. The intensity of it also varies, from just a period of slight increase in libido... to periods during which they are barely capable of rational thinking.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Most of them lives on Lana, but there is a notable number of them living as either slaves or peasants in Karadia. Notable population of catf-morph beastmen can be encountered in northwestern Arrica and in Vestiria. Second in number are catmen population in Bharata Kanda and various less developed areas especially in Native Sea and Northern Sea.

Average Intelligence

Curiously, they seem to be above human average in terms of their intelligence. They can be frighteningly devious and cunning... when they actually feel motivated enough to use their wits. Normally they are rather lazy and love comfort beyond reason.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

They tend to have quite bad long-range vision, instead being extraordinary in terms of following fast objects with their eyes. This makes them extraordinary in fast paced close combat, especially due to how flexible they also are - they are, especially when boosted with aura, capable of quite astounding feats. Which includes for example catching arrows midflight or dodging bullets fired from average aetherite rifles.

Let's just say that they tend to be rather clingy.

Relationship Ideals

Curiously enough, Cat-people tend to be sexually promiscuous, at least to a point. Those that remain independent tend to share their males quite openly, which is a cultural relict from the times when most of their males died on the battlefield. Which doesn't mean that there are no stable couples, just that 'sharing' is quite often.
This, in a way, is also a thing among those suscepted to rule of another species, as they tend to be slaves, and don't have much to say in terms of chosing their partners. Their culture - if it can be named that way - over centuries turned to accepting such a status, making them quite open to sex and quite clearly differentiating between sex and love.

Common Etiquette Rules

Catmen tend to enjoy comfort and physical contact much more than average humans. This includes the enjoyment of petting (or even licking) those they consider to be close to them, even without any sexual desires included, which tends to be... confusing for many.
Most of those living among other species more or less controls themselves... at least outside of actual relationships and those that are really close and actually understand that's just how they are.
