Garzaria

In the beginning, there was only 4 entities in the universe. They had no names, but after millennia of wandering through the vast and empty space, they combined into one, creating all the matter in the universe. The matter then split, creating all that exists today; stars, planets and living creatures. This was known as the Great Split and occurred 35,000 years ago. Garzaria was created later into the creation of the universe and is rather new in the grand scheme of things (approx. 5,000 yrs. old.) The planet rests as the 5th planet from the star which it orbits, of which the Garzarians have named it Pipheth. Garzaria also has one moon which orbits it, named Chozucrun. In Garzarian legend, Pipheth and Chozucrun, elder dragons created during the Great Split, battled over the world after its creation, but were both stopped by the natural forces that sprung to life from Garzaria’s rich natural resources. These primal spirits, known as Celaeno the Dryad, Aurora the Wolf, Elgon the Ape, Gnok the Reaper and Umiko the Merfolk, defeated the elder dragons, and in doing so trapped their souls in the celestial bodies surrounding the planet. However, the ferocity of both sides created an even more powerful beast, Anhildr, the Thunder Horse. Anhildr ravaged Garzaria, killing almost all who inhabited it. The spirits were able to defeat the Stormbringer, but in doing they had to sacrifice themselves to save the planet they were created to protect. All were banished to the edges of the planet, never to be awoken again, as doing so would create a maelstrom too powerful for Garzaria to survive.   With the absence of celestial beings now in their life, the Garzarians began to worship aspects of their own world, including people and animals, as well as entities from other worlds, such as angels and demons, whom which they viewed as gods. Approximately 2,500 years ago, the angel gods and demon gods created pandemonium on Garzaria, fighting for control over the land which their followers frolicked. As they fought a half-elf woman named Ghoktrix suddenly ascended to godhood after botching a sacred ritual, something a Garzarian had never accomplished before. She singlehandedly ended the conflict and banished both the Angelic and Demonic gods from the land. While she did allow worship of the entities, contact with them was forbidden. Since, 21 others ascended to a similar level within the last 2,500 years, the most recent of which occurred 1 year ago, in 2460 AGW. While it is still unknown who has ascended, and to claim what rank, its side-effects have begun to grip the vast land of Garzaria; plague, destruction, and the formation of a hellish rift on the continent of Formithlond.
