Gloom Stalker

Gloom Stalkers are at home in the darkest places: deep under the earth, in gloomy alleyways, in primeval forests, and wherever else the light dims. Most folk enter such places with trepidation, but a Gloom Stalker ventures boldly into the darkness, seeking to ambush threats before they can reach the broader world.

Gloom Stalker Training

When you choose this archetype, you gain the following benefits:
  • Beginning at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Stealth skill if you don’t already have it. If you were already proficient, your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses this proficiency.
  • At 3rd level, you gain low-light vision out to a range of 60 feet. If you already have low-light vision or darkvision, you increase its range by 60 feet.
  • At 5th level, you gain the Vanish ability early.
  • At 10th level, when you would normally gain this ability, the bonus to stealth rolls increases to +10.

Dread Ambusher

At 3rd level, you master the art of the ambush.   On your first turn during combat, you gain a +10 bonus to your speed, and if you use the Attack action, you can make one additional weapon attack. If that attack hits, it deals an extra 1d8 of that weapon's damage type.   You are also adept at evading creatures that rely on darkvision. Such creatures gain no benefit when attempting to detect you in dark and dim conditions.

Extra Attack

Beginning at 5th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

Iron Mind

By 7th level, you have honed your ability to resist the mind-altering powers of your prey.   You gain proficiency in Wisdom saving throws. If you already have this proficiency, you instead gain proficiency in Intelligence or Charisma saving throws (your choice).

Stalker’s Flurry

Starting at 11th level, once on each of your turns if you miss with an attack, you can make another attack.

Shadowy Dodge

At 15th level, whenever a creature attacks you and does not have advantage, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the creature’s attack roll against you.
  • You can use this feature before or after the attack roll is made, but it must be used before the outcome of the roll is determined.
