Hoshin

The Hoshin are a race of humanoid foxes who live in the Eden Peninsula, south of the country of the Werebeast Hordes. They are known for their intelligence and advanced technology, and are often sought out as mercenaries.   The Hoshin are small, with white fur on their front and yellow, golden, or reddish fur on their back. They have fox-like ears and a fluffy, bushy tail. They stand at around 1 to 1.20 meters tall, and are known for their high-pitched voices.   Due to their small size, the Hoshin rarely fight on foot, instead riding on tamed wolves for transportation and battle. They are skilled with spears and crossbows, and some have even mastered the use of primitive magical rifles.   The Hoshin live in large families of up to 60-70 individuals, led by one of the older women. Their political system is a gerontocracy, where the oldest and most experienced members of the community hold the most power.   Notable leaders of the Hoshin include Queen Hoshina, who united the scattered Hoshin families and established the capital city of Big Bjum Bjum; General Hoshinashi, who led the Hoshin army to victory against the Hellfire Trolls; and Captain Hoshinoko, who is known for her daring raids on enemy ships.   Heroic feats of the Hoshin include the defense of Rill's Southgate against the Hellfire Trolls, the rescue of a large exploration party in the Tal'tipras Swamp, and the successful negotiation of a trade agreement with the Mountain Elves of Irennora.
