Gifter/Learner

Gifters are users of supernatural abilities inherent to their physiology. These individuals learn their abilities in the same way one would learn a physical skill, such as playing a musical instrument, by trial and error, and by building muscle memory. Learners are users of supernatural abilities that learned their skill, through academic study. An inherent propensity to use this specific skill is still required. These individuals, frequently require chants, or materials, or catalysts in order to use their abilities.
These two are not mutually exclusive, and frequently overlap, though the individual usually has a natural proclivity to either gift of learned abilities.
