Artifact Crystals

Artifact Crystals are strange rocks, in the way that each one of them is entirely unique. These crystals come from unknown sources, and have unpredictable effects. Some of these items cause changes in their ecosystem once removed from the place where they are found. These are said to spawn following natural disasters, or unusual occurrences. Handling these rocks is usually a bad idea, as  they are very unstable, and some of them have immediate effects if disturbed, that might include injuring or even outright killing those in the immediate vicinity. As these rocks are once again, individually entirely unique, some are said to be safe to handle. Examples of the effects of these Crystals:   In the bottom of a certain valley, there lies one of these rocks, with a reddish brown colour. Against the warnings of the people who live there, a certain individual tried to remove the rock from it's resting place. All of his bones were instantly pulverized and he died.   In a vast desert, lies another one of these stones. Once again, a passer by attempted to handle the rock, but died immediately as if struck by lightning.   In the middle of a certain gigantic crater, lies one of these stones. A certain individual attempted to handle this stone, but lost an arm, as it caused random explosions of varying severity in the general vicinity.   In a certain vast forest, embedded in an enormous tree, there lied one of these crystals. The rock was removed by someone, and the whole forest ecosystem collapsed, becoming marshland and wasteland. The whereabouts of this Artifact Crystal is currently unknown.   A certain cherry blossom tree in the Nippon archipelago is in full bloom throughout the entire year, at all times, apparently because one of these rocks is embedded in it.   The most famous example of an Artifact Crystal is the Philosopher's Stone .
