The Remnant Kingdoms of Alab-Astre

After the events of the Arch-Demon, the newly formed Tieflings attempted to reclaim their lives and cities. The newly formed kingdoms banded together to contain the Hellish armies continuing to pour out of the ruined Kefvas capital city. The Tieflings, now realizing their freedom from the ancient elven gods, and newfound earthly desires, formed lucrative tourist traps and a very lucrative Mercenary company they call the Alab-Astre scouting party that is privately hired for jobs by various kingdoms.   the Kingdoms are primarily focused on aquiring gold to fund their containment efforts. as far as they care, if it makes the kingdom gold, it is allowed, although recently there have been regulations made for drug creation after a bad batch of synthesized Maacta mushrooms caused 12 brothels across the westen kingdoms to freak out and create mass riots for 84 hours until they sobered up. this caused negative relations with the kingdom of Calimport when their Emissary was found beaten and robbed after an orgy was broken up by the guards during the riots.

Structure

the kingdoms are each run by a Master Warlock who is trained in demonology. Not only are they in charge of running their kingdom, but their social standing is dependant on how effectively they maintain the war effort. A king could just as easily be assassinated or overthrown if their contribution is seen as mediocre. Much of the political rivalry and sabotage has to be done in ways that dont affect the overall war effort, such as temporarily disabling a new cannon design that a kingdom created in order to make them look bad publicly, but ensuring the cannons either work or are broken down to create more working cannons so the warfronts stay strong.

Culture

the cities drip drugs of all kinds, smell of sex because its seen as an act so casual its almost just a handshake between locals, and emit clouds of pollution due to the Tieflings penchant for crafting all sorts of magical items. You are just as likely to have sex and do drugs just walking down a dark city street, as you are to be robbed or killed. many tieflings form gangs that fight over who has donated more money to the cities Lord than the other, with less-donating gangs found to be hunted by the city. Expect laws and rules to ebb and flow within each city.

9 kingdoms, each pumping close to 100,000gp annually to fund mercenaries and the Alab-Astre scouting party. since its foundation, The Remnant Kingdoms of Alab-Astre have been at a stalemate with the demonic hordes that pour out of their ancient capital to the south.

History

formed around the 1590s, the formation of The Remnent Kingdoms of Alab-Astre(the RKA) came about due to the reclamation of 9 cities and seeing how dire their situation was as a race. they quickly banded together with the signing of the Red Concordiat in 1593, signaling solidarity in keeping demons from spreading across the world. From sneaking in and sabotaging demon equipment to stunt their spread, to open warfare in the now submerged sections of their old world, the RKA are always busy with their war effort.

on a scale of 1-10, the RKA operate at a level of 8.

Religion

after the events of The Calamity, many Tieflings turned to their new god Mad-God Slaanesh in a vain hope that their suffering be lessened by pleasure of any kind.

Agriculture & Industry

Most agriculture is automated. Done by magical equipment used by Rock Golems created by the farmers themselves. Allowing most villages to be more social and less focused on surviving, thus allowing more focus on gathering gold for their local Lord.

Trade & Transport

the RKA transports military equipment to its southern border to be used by mercenaries in the never ending demonic invasion.

Education

due to its roots in the ancient Kafvas empire, the RKA ensures all citizens who want to become a holy Artificer, get a university level of education. while the average citizen has a highschool level of education.

Infrastructure

supported mostly by gangs who peddle sex and drugs, the RKA are easily taking care of their people by automating agriculture and their forges constantly pump out magical trinkets that are bought by visitors to the kingdoms.

Mythology & Lore

long ago, long before the calamity, tieflings looked like beautiful elves from Faerune, who had an entire magical forest for a home. the beautiful elves used the massive amounts of magicka to create some of the most amazing monuments and cities ever seen. in their hubris the elves turned to other sources of magicka in search of new ways to manipulate and use it. in doing so, they eventually discovered the Planes of Hell and within it, an even stronger source of magicka. these elves built a fantastic contraption to siphon the excess Magicka into our plane of existance but unknowingly linked themselves directly to the Planes of Hell, and over Centuries this caused the actions of the elves to accidentally summon a powerful demon that shattered this land and almost destroyed the planet.   this Arch-Demon, self proclaimed Avatar of Slaanesh, has been seen as the herald of a new god named Slaanesh, who endorses any and all pleasures.

  Their predecessor, the ancient Kefvas Empire, was known for its creation of magical wonders, many of which can be seen if you dive down deep enough in the waters of Alab-Astre   the RKA does allow gangs who provide Gold and SIlver to the kingdom, to thrive and operate openly.
