Inspiration came to me for this world after wanting to a do a story about medieval-era character similar to that of The Transporter -- a hero with a mysterious and probably questionable past, who's a loner but gets sucked into a much wider battle involving an empire, an independent kingdom and a magic, once subdued, that has proliferated.   A once flourishing Empire is growing stale under the autocracy of it Emperor. He seeks a new way to consolidate and strengthen his power before renewing his father's legacy of worldwide domination. The key to this, he feels, is through the conscription of the world's magical conjurers.   An independent kingdom is precariously flirting with the line of falling into the dark grasp of the Empire in the north or joining a loose alliance of resistant kingdoms growing in the south. A dark secret threatens to expose itself to the world when the kingdom's crown princess is abducted in her sleep one night.   This adventure begins with the delivery of a package...
