The Orbital Wall

Due to the First Sol War, debris from destroyed spacecraft and satellites continuously piled up faster than they could be cleaned up leading to the isolation of Terran States on Earth. This pushed many colonies to become more independent and so when the Great Pulse occurred, it completely separated the colonies from Earth. The orbital wall may also refer to the debris around Mars which had a similar isolating effect.
