cadet (British Europa)

The idea of the rank of cadet is to prepare kids for a society based entirely around ranks. They carry the rank throughout secondary school which generally takes about six years to complete.

Qualifications

A child gains the rank of cadet after completing primary school and entering secondary school, generally around the age of twelve. To qualify for the sub-rank of cadet corporal, a cadet must have completed two years and be considered responsible enough by a school supervisor. Generally cadets won't be made a cadet corporal until their fourth year. Almost all cadets -unless they constantly need discipline- make corporal by their sixth year. To qualify for the sub-rank of cadet sergeant, a cadet must complete two years at the sub-rank of cadet corporal and and be considered responsible enough by a school supervisor. Generally cadets won't be made a cadet sergeant until their sixth year.

Appointment

Upon entering secondary school, there is a ceremony organized within usually about the first week of school starting, where all new students are awarded the rank of cadet. This may be proceeded with older students being promoted to cadet sub ranks. There may be smaller ceremonies throughout the year for awarding cadet sub ranks.

Duties

A cadet's duty is to complete secondary school and all the responsibilities that go with it. Senior cadets lead younger cadets. The sub-rank of cadet corporal are in charge of a team of cadets in school and community activities. The sub-rank of cadet sergeant must organize cadet teams in activities and partake in planing. A cadet sergeant can be given a special appointment within the school, these are highly competitive positions that come with a significant amount of prestige and power. They do however have extra responsibilities. The appointments vary based on the school, however most schools with have the appointments of executive school sergeant major or e.s.s.m. and commanding school sergeant major or c.s.s.m. who are the second and first in command of all cadets in their school.

Responsibilities

Although most of school time is dedicated to classes, Europans believe that the most important lessons are not taught in the classroom. About 30% of a cadet's school time is spent working in their team to do activities. These activities include drill, marksmanship, community service, team building, and fun probably stupid and somewhat unsafe games organized by the sergeants.
