Merial

Synopsis:

Merial is a Country that is founded on equal values for all, as well as a powerful stance on creativity. They are made up of States which work freely under their own jurisdiction, but each must uphold a set amount of rules to allow for equality. 500 years ago, Merial was a part of Algorath, but after several races, as well as territories wanted to shift the power dynamic of the big 3, and the foundations of the country, it broke away from Algorath. Since then, the two countries have been at war; but after half a century, the flames have started to die down, and talks of peace are about. This has not stopped some states from still attempting to push for war once again; even going under the Governmental Authority in order to do it.

Social:

The social structure of Merial is based on equality for all; regarding each race to be eligible for election as a state official. Not only this, but the country itself finds its pride being a beacon of creativity which pushes magic, and fighting to a new level. Though, most wish for nothing more than peace, but view Algorath as a fighting-hungry country.

Political:

The Political Structure is made up under an agreement known as the "Agreement of Stature", which states that all territories must obey these fundamental laws in order to be a part of the Country. These laws include:
  • Freedom of Speech
  • Freedom of Religion
  • Freedom of Assembly
  • Freedom of Magical Practice
  • Freedom of Individuality
  • and more. These territories also have an Elected "Territory Leader", who gathers at a designated meeting point to discuss the Country's issues, and represent their territory.

    Economic:

A Merial coin is actually twice as heavy as an Algorathian coin, and is worth double the Gold to someone who accepts it. However, it is not legal tenure in Algorath, normally. Other than that, Merial also values the arts; seeing value in poetry, writing, painting, and more.

     Religious:

From the worship of the Lords of the 9 Hells, to Equato, anything is allowed to be worshipped, so long as it does not produce bodily harm to another. This has sparked many debates and discussions, especially when dealing with the necromantic side of things.

    Military:

What Merial loses in numbers, it makes up for in sheer magical power, and cleverness. Despite only being half the size of Algorath, Merial has had numerous victories, as well as being able to hold themselves at the Sorvelt Line; the greatest hotspot area, and the only active major place where there is still fighting.
