Being the kind man he is, the farmer nurses her back to health, and gives her the last of his food. The woman then asked why nothing would grow, and the man spoke of lands that are cracked and old. As thanks, the woman gave him a wheat seed, and told him to plant it, and spill an animal's blood onto it. Then it would grow. A rabbit comes after the farmer plants it, but the temptation to cook it and eat it begins to gnaw at him. He had not seen any proof of the crop grow, but he did what he was told, trusting the woman.
